They say opposites attract, Well we are as opposite as you can get. But from day 1 of meeting 15 years ago we have been best friends and inseparable in so many ways.

Yes, we have our ups and downs along the way which is only to be expected in life. We come from two very different backgrounds, although both from the UK originally

Barbara has a background of a small fishing village in thr north of Scotland before immigrating to Australia as a child. She hated school, and having left early worked very successfully for many years in light industry.

While I loved school stayed until the end and pursued my life dream of nursing as a way of helping people. I settled in a career of Aged Care nursing both in the south of England and here. I emigrated as another of my dreams with my family in 1991.

At the time we meet I was living my dreams but was not happy, Barbara had just been retrenched from her job of 15 years and finding all her skills were nolonger required was devastating. A short time later I knew some of how she felt. The government of the day decided to close the hospital I was working at. Knowing I could get another job in the private sector was not a problem but it was the catalyst to me reevaluating my life and where I wanted to be. As a teenager I had always predicted I would spend my life helping other people and had done this via my profession but I also wanted to retire from nursing by age 55 and with that fast approaching, it was not going to happen on my current path. I had to change.

I undertook a diploma course, although completing this I realised this would not be my vechicle either, but the skills learnt have been used daily in my work and everyday life. Life continued for a few years with us both working in different areas of Aged Care. When I was hit with a health crisis. 

This was a wake up call for us both. While recovering very slowly I really looked at what I had and my life thus far and where I wanted to be in 10 years. The only sure thing was the two were very different.

The Seed Was Set

Using our new tool the internet and the local Community newspaper I found a number of "work from home" ads and over the next few weeks checked these out. One ad kept jumping off the page at me; I could not get that web site name out of my mind. It was not what the advertiser had to say it was just the site name that captured me. I looked at it many times and eventually ordered the information package for no other reason than to stop the nagging in my head.

To my horror I found it was pyramid selling and I knew this was illegal having been caught up in it years before in the UK. Then came the human contact via the phone call one evening and I told the young lady how I felt in no uncertain terms. Me I would have put the phone down if someone had spoken to me like that but this girl quietly explained it was very legal and operated throughout the world for over 20 years. She gentley explained multi level marketing and strongly advised she send me a 2nd. Information pack which explained more. I very quickly hit the internet again and read everything I could find about MLM, I even phoned my accountant to cheek with him. I could find nothing but good about this system or the company.

We signed up.

Three months to the day from sending for the information. Little did we know back then the amazing journey this would take us on.

That was 5 years ago

Today we are very different people from back then. We have had some amazing experiences, are constently meeting wonderful people and have made some lifetime friends. We now see things very differently, we have learnt and grown as people, we have improved in all aspects of our lives. Along the way we have achieved some of our life goals and set new ones, bigger ones very different to those we would have ever dreamed of before but we both know one thing for curtain we WILL achieve them. We are already planning the celebrations for that event.
